In the heart of Straubing, just a few steps from the Danube, the NAWAREUM awaits you – an extraordinary museum that encourages participation and discovery. Experience fascinating topics such as climate change, plants, nutrition, regenerative resources, and renewable energies.

Special tour: Sustainability, art, & architecture

Join a guided tour lasting just under an hour and discover how art, science, and sustainability come together in a truly unique way. The building itself, a state-of-the-art passive house, is part of the exhibition. The surrounding museum garden, where renewable resources and insect-friendly plants flourish, invites visitors to take a break at any time. Inside, striking art installations and photography open up new perspectives on a sustainable future – vivid, thought-provoking, and emotionally engaging.

A shimmering wave of repurposed glass bottles welcomes you when you enter. It symbolizes that every material deserves a second life. The artist has engraved important words on the bottles. Which ones can you spot?

Understanding nature – from cell to tree

An impressive tree trunk with bare roots illustrates the cycle of resource use and the many ways in which wood can be used. This exhibit makes knowledge tangible.

Journey through human history in four dioramas

Four intricately crafted paper dioramas take you on a captivating journey through time. How do we manage our resources – in the past, today, and in the future?
