With live film music, the movie “Dating Planet A” takes you to distant and magical places on a planet called Earth. The cinema-concert project is a collaboration between filmmaker Johannes Felder and musician Jonathan Hofmeister.
This sometimes witty, sometimes poetic puzzle of images and sounds is about existing in the world, about its beauty and vulnerability. Episodic cinematic short stories about the ground we stand on, its endangerment and its grandiose diversity are revealed to the audience. A dreamy cinematic and concert experience in equal measure, with a gripping acoustic and visual pull.
There is no planet B, but that does not lead to despair in “Dating Planet A”. Instead of drowning in hopelessness, “Dating Planet A” wants to set itself free artistically. The film dares to take a look at the world, people, their inescapable connections and the misunderstandings that arise from this coexistence.
Countering the threat of alienation on a rapidly changing planet, Felder and Hofmeister invite the audience on an adventure together: To find a place in front of the screen, to surrender to the poetic images and, above all, to listen to the immediate seduction of live film music.
